SERIES OF ACCIDENTS.
TWO CHILDREN INJURED. STRUCK BY MOTOR-VEHICLES. PAINTER FALLS FIFTEEN FEET. A number of accidents occurred in Auckland yesterday In two cases injuries were sustained by children through being struck by motor-vehicles. Alice Coleman, aged 11, wais running across the road opposite the Edendale school in pursuit of a ball when she was knocked clown by a motor-track. Her left ankle was fractured. The child resides at 21, Columbia Road, Edendale. In tfee second case, Angus Gordon McGregor, aged eight, received slight injuries to the head through being knocked down by a motor-car near Victoria Park early last evening. As the result of falling 15ft. through a verandah in Ponsonby Road yesterday afternoon, a painter, Mr. Raymond Charles Mitchell, aged 18, sustained slight concussion of the brain, and a fracture of the left wrist. The hospital authorities reported last evening that his condition was not serious. Mr. Frederick Balm, aged 46, had his left leg; broken in a collision between his motor-cycle and a motor-car in Manukau Road. Mr. Balm resides at 31j Cameron Street, Onehunga. While working in a hold of the steamer Tongariro at Queen's Wharf yesterday morning, Mr. George Clark, aged 37, was struck by a suspended case and his left arm was broken. „
