' DISABILITIES IN ENGLAND. r MEASURE FOR REMOVAL. r Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. 1 (Reed. 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Dec. 4. r The Roman Catholic Relief Bill, which was introduced in the House of Commons as "a measure of justice in order to remove long-standing, trivial disabilities," was passed without being put to the vote. Should the bill become law prohibitions will be removed which are mostly of ancient origin.- These include the exercising of a Roman Catholic rite or ceremony outside a place of worship or private house; appearing in public in the habit of an order; officiating as a priest in any place of worship with a bell or steeple; keeping books on Roman Catholic ritual; giving property to an abbey or a convent.; making a trust for the benefit of a Roman: Catholic order; and entrance to monastic orders in England. The bill yet has to pass the House of Lords. The leader of the English high church party, Lord Halifax, comments: " X am very pleased about it."
