Extraordinary circumstances attended the arrival home of Queen Marie of Rumania. The Prime Minister, General Averescu, and other prominent personages, waited in vain for i the arrival of the express at the railway station. Then, hearing that the train had been delayed owing to heavy floods, they left the station intending to return. In the meanwhile Queen Marie arrived. She was greeted only by railway porters. When Her Majesty was leaving the station with Princess Ileana and Prince Nicholas, she was amazed to see King Ferdinapd walking slowly toward her. The Queen embraced the King in an emotional manner. His Majesty looked pale and thin, but he was obviously not in such a serious condition as had been reported.
