SPIRITUALIST CHURCH.

BUILDING AT NEWMARKET. THE OPENING CEREMONY. The distinction of being the first Spiritualist Church to be built in Auckland is attached to the new home of the Progressive Church of Spiritualists in Alma Street, Newmarket. The building was officially opened on Saturday by Mr. S. Donaldson, Mayor of Newmarket. Consisting only of the church proper the building provides accommodation for 120 people, It is of ferro-concrete and was built at a cost of £775. In declaring the church open, Mr. Donaldson welcomed the. members into the borough. Ho hoped their mission would lead to useful results both to themselves and to the district generally. Mr. E. Wall, president of the Church, said tho day marked a definite achievement on the part of the Progressive Society. It was a result of the service of members and of those who, although passed beyond the physical state, were able to return and inspire others- lie was very satisfied with tho now church, which had been designed and constructed by a spiritualist, Mr. C. G. Rhodes. Appreciation of the work of the Church was expressed by Mr. Fairburn, president of the Spiritual Scientist Church, Mr. Williams, president of the National Spiritualist Church, and Mr. McLeodCraig, Spiritualist organiser for Australia and New Zealand.
