MINISTERS' MOVEMENTS.

MR. HAWKEN INDISPOSED. AUCKLAND VISIT POSTPONED.' The Hon. 0. J. Hawken, Minister of Agriculture, is indisposed, and will not be able to visit the Auckland fruitgrowing districts next week as was originally arranged. The secretary of the Auckland Fruitgrowers' Council, Mr. -G. A. Green, received a telegram from Wellington yesterday stating that Mr. Hawkfen was under the doctor's care and, although there had been a change for the better, the Minister had advised not to travel meanwhile. The visit to Auckland was therefore postponed, but Mr. Hawken hoped that he would be able to fulfil the projected programme in the following weak if that arrangement suited the council. A reply was sent agreeing to this proposal, and it is probable Mr. Hawken will visit the fruitgrowing centres from October 18 to 22 instead of from October 11 to 15. The Minister of Lands, Hon. A. D. McLeod, will leave Wellington for Auckland on Monday evening, and with the Minister of Labour he will meet the Auckland Unemployment Committee on Tuesday. Later the Minister is to visit Franklin, Waitomo and New Plymouth; The Minister of Labour, Hon. G. J. Anderson, - will leave Wellington this evening for Auckland, .and to-morrow will attend the opening of the new building of the Commercial Travellers' Association. The Minister is to open a new post ofnce at Kaukapakapa on Monday", and on Tuesday he will meet the Auckland Unemployment Committee. Mr. Anderson expects to be back in Wellington on Wednesday. - The Minister in charge of the Cook Islands Department, Hon. Sir Maui Pomare, will visit Te Aroha to unveil a memorial to the late Sir William Herries to-morrow afternoon. The Minister of Internal Affairs, Hon. R. F. Bollard, who will leave Wellington to-day, and the Minister of Public Works, Hon. K. S. Williams, who is at present in the north, will also attend the ceremony.
