SERVICES ON THE BEACHES.
PROPOSAL FOR SUMMER MONTHS
An echo of the Gipsy Smith mission was heard at the Onehnnga Methodist quarterly meeting on Tuosday evening, when the chairman, the Rev. G. S. Cook, said the church services had since been attended more regularly. The mem-bership-roll now comprises 222 adults and 110 juniors, showing an increase of 75 • ' i' s during the four years of Mr. Cook's liiimsbry, while the institution of Declaration Day in the Sunday School had resulted in a gratifying increase of junior members. The Auckland Synod will be asked to make this an annual feature, on the third Sunday in July each year. The meeting adopted the suggestion of the chairman to confer with the ministors of the other churches, with a view to holding combined services on the Onehunga beach -on Sunday afternoons during tho summer. The circuit stewards, Messrs. J. Pople and J. Booth, were appointed representatives to the next synod, with Messrs. F, A. Skinner and J. Kelsey as Substitute! representatives. Messrs. T. Moore and R. G. Laking were re-elected auditors. Tho accounts for the quarter were submitted, showing receipts and expenditure balancing at £164. Mr. Cook has now been four years in the Onehunga circuit, and it was decided to invite as his successor tho Rev. F E. deadly, at present located at Hamilton East.
