AGED WOMAN'S END.
PAINFUL CIRCUMSTANCES. DEMENTED DAUGHTER'S ORDEAL. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Reed. 7.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Aug. 29. The' death under terribly distressing circumstances of Mrs. Thoreau, aged 70, was discovered at Wyong. When some neighbours knocked at the door it was opened by Mrs. Thoreau's grown-up daughter, who was in a demented condition. .' The girl said her mother was ill. A neighbour entered and found the body of Mrs. Thoreau on the floor of a bedroom. She had been dead six days. Apparently the woman had fallen and broken her neck. Her daughter, becoming deranged, thought she was only ill. She had been making attempts during the whole of the past-six days to feed the dead woman.
The daughter was removed to a mental hospital.
