Irwin (Wellington) defeated O. Fitzmaurice (Gisborne). Feather-weight.—N. Reeve (Taneatua) defeated V. A. Jones (Southland); J. Donovan (New Plymouth) defeated F. Keith (Wellington); J. Lecki-a (Otago) defeated G. Adams (Wellington). BOXERS AT OLYMPIC GAMES. NEXT CONTESTS AT INVERCARGILL. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PEESS ASSOCIATION.]. NAPIER. Friday. The annual conference of the New Zealand Boxing Association was held in Napier to-day, Mr. J. Vigor Brown presiding. Delecrates were present from all parts of the Dominion. In view of bad decisions having at times caused dissatisfaction, Mr. G. Hale (Christchurch) moved that a special meeting of judges and referees be held as a first step toward forming a referees' association. This was carried. The following resolution was unanimously carried"That this meeting of representatives of the New Zealand Boxing Association strongly supports the efforts now being taken by the council of the association to assist in raising funds to secure adequate representation of tho Dominion at the next Olympic Games, and pledges itself to render all possible financial assistance when any concrete proposal is forthcoming." The election of officers resulted*:—President, Mr. S. A. Lindsay (Invercargill): vice-presidents, Messrs. F. J. Campbell (Dunedin) and M. Treston (Napier); apnea! committee, Messrs. .V. R. Meredith, H. McKenzie and E. A. Craig (Auckland); council. Dr. P. F. McEvedy (chairman), Messrs. D. R. Hoggard, J, R. Simpson, E. Blundell, E. A.' Daxvson, J. W. Heenan and Colonel R. St. J. Beere, Mr. W ; G. Talbot (Wellington) moved: '|( 1) That it be a recommendation to the council that professional licenses be issued to professionals only for contests promoted by affiliated associations and that all future licenses should clearly state that no professional should accept engagement without first ascertaining that the association under which he proposes to compete is duly affiliated under the New Zealand Boxing Association rules and that such association is empowered under the rules to promote professional contests such as he proposes to engage in. "(2) That it be a recommendation to the council that future applications for affiliation by an association be only granted subject to a proviso that no such association shall promote any professional contest except at the discretion of the council." Mr T. Donovan (Hawke's Bay) gave notice to move that professional purses be limited to £l5O with no expenses. Next year's championships were allotted to Invercargill.
