CAPSIZE OF A CAR.
SEVEN PERSONS INJURED. DRIVER'S SKULL FRACTURED. DEATH FOLLOWS INJURIES. [BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NEW PLYMOUTH, Thursday. Tragic circumstances surrounded the final of the Taranaki provincial Rugby competition at Stratford to-day, Mr. B. Petty, a well-known New Plymouth bowler and football referee, being so seriously injured in a motor accident when returning from the match that he died in hospital later. After passing another car near Tariki, Mr. Petty, who was driving his car, was regaining the roadway when his car overturned. His skull was fractured. Six other passengers received minor in. juries, including broken bones, cuts and bruises.
