POWER AT TE AWAMUTU.
£25,000 LOAN POLL CARRIED. EXTENSIONS TO THE SERVICES. [BY TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TE AWAMUTU, Thursday. The Te Awamutu Electric-Power Board's loan poll yesterday, on a proposal to raise £25,000 for improvements and extensions to the services, was, carried by 174 votes to 107. This was somewhat in excess of the necessary three-fifths majority. The chief opposition to the proposal came from Ohaupo, where the voting was 32 against the proposal and six in favour. Other places where an excess of .votes against the proposal was recorded are: Kaipaki, Te Mawhai, Hairini, Te Rore and Parawera. The small number of votes cast indicates that very little interest was, taken in the proposal.
