WAITOMO CAVES HOSTEL.
ADDITIONS TO BE EXPEDITED. STATEMENT BY MINISTER. [BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.'] TE KUITI, Thursday. Everything possible is being done to expedite the additions to the Waitomo Caves hostel, states the Minister in charge of Tourist Resorts, Hon. W. Nosworthy, in a letter in reply to the recent protest made by the Te Kuiti Chamber of Commerce at the delay in the erection of the new building. "The Government architectural branch of the Public Works Department advises that tenders will be called for toward the end of the present month," states the Minister. It is understood the matter has been in the hands of the Public Works Department for two years.
