UNCOMFORTABLE TRAINS.

MAIN TRUNK CONDITIONS, COMPLAINT OF TRAVELLERS. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] WANGANUI. Thursday Many complaints are made concerning the failure of the Railway Department to provide comfort for passengefs travelling down the Main Trunk. Women and children are particularly affected. Last night the steam-heating was not operating on the express from Auckland until Hunterville was reached and passengers were shivering throughout the night. It is stated this happens at intervals, and generally on one of the coldest nights.
