Julian left for New Plymouth yesterday with Fair Abbey and Wenday. who are engaged at the North Taranaki Hunt meeting, to-morrow. Fair Abbey took no harm from his fall at the Pakuranga Hunt meeting and galloped a decent mile yesterday. _ Both horses should take a lot of beating in their engagements.. The hunter Brown Heath, who was going well when he fell in the Paknranga Hunt Cup. went amiss in that event and may net race again for some time. B. Cox. with Rahepoto and Orma, and C. Hodder, with Schorr, left for Feilding yesterday evening: The horses mentioned are en. gaged at the Marton spring meeting next week. " It is understood that Rahepoto. who has two engagements on the opening day of the Marlon spring meeting, mav be started in the Marton Handicap in preference to the Spring Handicap. On paner his chance in the Spring Handicap, which is a hack event, looks the better, and perhaps nothing definite will be decided upon until tho day. H. Wiggins has been engaged to ride him in the Marton Handicap. H. F.va expects to leave Te Aroha to-day with Ring Potoa, who is engaged at . the Marton spring meeting. He purposes taking Flying Juliet and Luxurious with him also, and -will take the trio on to- Wanganui. Flyins Juliet and Luxurious are not engaged at Marton. Tho Taranaki hunter Luoiiwl made amends for his two failures at Ellerslie by winning the Hunt Cup at Hawera . oft WedneVav. was soine particularlv well in the Paknranga Hunt Cup when he fell and would probably have been hard to beat if he b»d stood up. The Auckland horseman R. E. Thomson, who has been riding particularly well lately. piloted Lupineel.
