INTER-ALLIED OBLIGATIONS
GATHERING OF 'NOTABILITIES. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received 5.5 p.m.) A. and N.Z. PARIS, Aug. 24. Several French newspapers draw attention to the fact that international financial leaders are spending a holiday at Aix les Bains. Among those who are staying at the famous resort are Mr. Stanley Baldwin, Prime Minister •of Britain; Sir Robert Horne, M.P., a former British; Chancellor of the Exchequer; Mr. A. W. Mellon. Secretary of the United States Treasury; and Mr. S. Parker Gilbert, Agent-General for Reparation Payments. The newspaper Liberie says the assembly of these personages is not k mere coincidence, Senator Dupuy, a member of the financial deputation which M. Caillaux sent to Washington, has also arrived at Aix les Bains with instructions to open semi-official negotiations for the settlement of inter-Allied debts.
GERMANY'S ATTITUDE.

It is officially stated that the German delegation to the Assemblyof the League of Nations will only go to Geneva when it has been definitely established that there will be no obstacles in the way of the admittance of Germany to a seat on the Council.
