RAILWAY HOARDINGS.
A MOUNT EDEN COMPLAINT.
INQUIRIES TO BE MADE
[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL REPORTER.] WELLINGTON. Wednesday. "Has the Minister's attention been directed to a statement by the Mount Eden Borough Council's engineer that certain hoardings erected by the Railway Department are a menace to public safety?" asked Mr. V. H. Potter (Roskill) of the Minister of Railways, Mr. Coates, in the House of Representatives to-day. "If they are," he added, "wi-i he have ■ them removed immediately ?" ' "I will not guarantee to have them removed at once, but I will have inquiries made," said Mr. Coates. "Many of these allegations are exaggerated. It is a matter for co-operation between the department and the council, and the de partment is quite ready to co-operate."
