SOLDIERS' GOLD BADGE.
A MUCH-PRIZED HONOUR. PRESENT ATI Of 1 'TO MR. COATES. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENTS.) WELLINGTON. Wednesday. The gold badge of the Returned Soldiers' Association is to bo presented to the Prime Minister, Mr. Coates. The issue of these badges is jealously guarded, only twelve having been given up to the present, ' Among the recipients are the Prince of Wales, Lord Jellicoe, Sir Charles Fergusson, Lord Allenby, and Colonel Freyberg, V.C. The presentation will take place on Friday evening. It will be made by Colonel G. T. Hall, president of the Wellington Returned Soldiers' Association, other speakers being the Mayor of Wellington, Mr. C. J. B. Norwood, and Mr. W. Perry, vice-president of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association.
A guard of honofir will be provided by the" Technical College Cadet Company.'
