HAURAKI PLAINS COMPANY.

SUCCESSFUL YEAR'S WORK. INCREASED OUTPUT OF CHEESE. [BV TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] THAMES', Wednesday. The eleventh annual report of the Hauraki Plains Co-operative Dairy Company states that the past year's operations have been successful from all points of view. The, fall in prices at the latter end of the season had to a great extent affected the pay-out for cheese, owing to a larger quantity than usual being afloat and in store at the close of the financial year. These stocks, however, had been taken in at a conservative value and there was, reason to believe that they might realise a higher price than the estimated value, in which case the pay-out .figure for cheese would be slightly increased.. It was satisfactory to again report an increase in.the supply of milk for cheese manufacture, the output of cheese being 562 tons, an increase of nearly 100 tons over last season. § THe average advance payment to suppliers for cheese was Is 6d and for butter Is 4.7 d. The balance would give an additional payment of l£d for cheese and 2.05 d for butter, making a total payout o f f Is 7£d for cheese and Is 6§d for butter. The directors- recommended the following amounts be paid at the annual meeting Butter: A final bSnus of 2.05 d; cheese, Id per lb. butter-fat; over the whole season, together with interest on paid-up share capital at 6 per cent., amounting to £567 3s 3d, equal to per lb. butter-fat. The average grade for the season for cheese was 93.11 and for butter 91.5. Not a single crate of secondgrade cheese was made out of a total of 7775 crates. The grade for cheese placed the company second on the grading list for the season for the wholo of the Auckland Province.
