ESCAPE FROM CUSTODY.
MAORI PLEADS GUILTY. REMANDED TO SUPREME COURT. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] ' WHANGARET, Wednesday. A "Maori, Tua Taaka, who escaped.from custody at Maungaturoto on August 15, and-who was subsequently, arrested* on the Port- Albert wharf, pleaded guilty,'this morning to charges of breaking from legal .custody, "theft and converting a horse to his own use. lie was remanded to the Supreme Court for sentence.
