SOUTH AUCKLAND EXECUTIVE.
BROWN SHIELD CONTEST. [BY telegraph.—own correspondent. ] HAMILTON, Wednesday. The South Auckland Football Association met on Tuesday; Mr. F. J. Carr presiding. Arrangements for the Brown Shield match against Wanganui <?n Saturday were reported by the secretary to be well in hand, and a programme of entertainment was arranged for the visitors during the weekend in Hamilton. The Hamilton City Band advised that it would be pleased to. offer its services for the afternoon. The offer was accepted. Mr. F. Wo'odhall was apnbinted manager of the team and Mr. J. Baillie the South Auckland linesman. It was decided to thank Mr. S. B. Ba ; rd for his .gift ol" cn .oak and'glass case for the Ansell Cup. The South Auckland championship semifinal will be played as follows;—Waihou v. Hamilton section winners, at Waihou or Te Aroha, the winners to meet Huntly Thistle at Hamilton for the Howden Championship Shield, on dates to be arranged after the result of the Brown Shield match against Wanganui ia known. An anonymous donor advised the gift of six school balls,. to be available at. beginning of next season, for use in th& iiamilton district schools.
