LONG SERVICE AT SEA.
VETERAN CAPTAIN HONOURED [BY TELEGRAPH.--o\j|N CORRESrONBENT.J' WELLINGTON. Thursday,. One of tho senior commanders in 'the Union Steam Ship Company's service, Captain L. C. K. Worrail, who retired" recently, Was tendered a farewell gathering by the directors of the company. Captain Worrail was in command of tho Makura when he retired. , ' * Sir John Roberts referred to Captain Worrell's great record of service, which" extended over 40 years. He had commanded 26 of the company's vessels, including tho Maunganui in transport service during tho war. On behalf of the directors Sir John presented Captain Worrail with a smoker's cabinet, a silver salver, and a silver tea service as a mark of esteem and a memento of his long service.
