PLANT-GROWERS CONFER.

REMITS FOR CONFERENCE* At a meeting of the executive: committee of the Auckland Council of the Nerv Zealand Institute of Horticulture, it, was decided to again approach the City Council with the request that a committee f>e appointed to consider the question of establishing a botanic garden. I Sir Edwin Mitchelson and Sir Hentry Brett were nominated for election as honorary members, of the institute. Mr. jF. J. Nathan was.nominated for re-election/ as president. Mr. T. Aldridge was elected a meirfber of the executive.

Remits for consideration at the annual conference of the institute in Wellington on August 16 were adopted as follow ':— ' 'That the institute embody the projiosed Native .Plant Association and that all; district councils be directed to form subcommittees where desirable to carry on the work."

"That the conference approve of the lectures on horticulture now being jjiven under the auspices of the institute and the Workers' Association, and suggest the continuance and extension of the scheme." #
