HURT AT EXHIBITION.
DAMAGES CLAIM FOLLOWS. MISHAP IN " FUN FACTORY." I>Y TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] DUNEDIN, Tuesday. In the Magistrate's Court this morning George Sidforcl., an accountant, of Wellington, claimed from the Exhibition Company special and general damages amounting to £2OO for injuries. While using a chute in the " fun factory" he fractured one leg and sprained the ankle of the other leg. Before Mr. Callan opened the case for the defence the magistrate asked what would be the effect of the Exhibition Company going into liquidation. Had he any jurisdiction even if the parties were agreed to waive the point ? After Mr. Haggitt, for plaintiff, had pointed out that the insurance companies were the real defendants, the magistrate decided to continue hearing evidence, and to reconsider the point later. Evidence was then called on behalf of
the Exhibition Company with a view toi proving the safety of the slide on which, plaintiff received his injuries. The case was then adjourned until this, - morning for legal argument.
