KARITANE HOSPITAL.
NEW WELLINGTON BUILDING.
SIR TRUBY KING'S. GIFT.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] WELLINGTON." Monday. The ceremony of laying the foundationstone of the Karitane Hospital on the site presented by Sir Truby King at Melrose will be performed on Wednesday ■ morning by Her Excellency Lady Alice Fergusson. The committee is still about £IO,OOO from the mark aimed at (£25,000) to establish Plunket work in Wellington upon a sound and comfortable working footing. The sit? of the hospital is on the crest of the hill of which Sir Truby King's residence marks practically the summit, and'if the day is clear those who attend the ceremony will be amazed by the magnificence of the outlook. The site itself is the personal gift of Sir Truby for the local headquarters of the cause to which he has devoted the best of his powers, and embodies not only a valuable piece of land but also a large expenditure of time and money upon preparatory work.
