Afterwards she bunkered at Colombo and travelled through the Sue/. Canal to Port Said, where more bunker was taken in. When passing through the Red Sea the Mariston called at Algiers and bunkered for the third time before continuing her voyage to Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Baltimore, at w'hich ports the cargo was discharged. At Baltimore a full cargo of coal was loaded for discharge at Savona, Italy. From Savona. the Mariston went to Bougie, Algeria, loading ore, and she called at Oran, another Algerian port, for bunkers. The ore cargo was unloaded at Norfolk, Virginia, and the Mariston bunkered at Newport News. In ballast she then sailed for Sabine, Texas, and loaded a full cargo of sulphur for Australia. She discharged at Newcastle, Melbourne, Geelong, Adelaide and Port Pirie. After completion of discharge at Port Pirie a quantity of wheat was, loaded and the ship filled ".tp at Adelaide. Before leaving Australia bunkers were replenished at Newcastle, and the steamer sailed for Shanghai, where the wheat was discharged. From Shanghai she went to Karatsu, Japan, and bunkered before going to. Nauru Island, where the present cargo was loaded.

In spite of the number of ports entered, and the distance covered, the voyage was uneventful and general fair weather prevailed.
