DELIGHTED TOURISTS.
MEMORIES OF AUCKLAND. ANOTHER VISIT SUGGESTED. Abundant evidence of the favourable impression which the American tourists on the Carinthia gained of Auckland is contained in a letter received by Auckland residents who entertained some of ■ the visitors.
In expressing gratitude for the happy time spent in hospitable Auckland, the writor states that many on board experienced similar welcomes. " Frankly," continued the letter, "when our ship pulled away from the dock to the tune of 'Should auld acquaintance be forgot,' we had tears in our eyes and regrets in our .hearts to leave you, but wo shall come back. Truly, New Zealand won us all.
"Unfortunately, the shore excursions in Australia, with the exception of Hobart, were most disappointing, and they have nothing to offer that compares with New Zealand. A majority vote put New Zealand on the list for another world cruise, and that we should remain longer and visit, the Waitomo Caves and the South Island."
