Achram Bey, a rich and distinguished Turkish aristocrat, displeased with the behaviour of his 36 wives, asked permission to dissolve his harem. The authorities refused to grant the ref|uest. Achram then invited his wives to a feast. He sprinkled bella donna over the food and into the drinks. All tho feasiers, including Achram himsolf, tvero afterwards discovered dead in the banquetting hall.
