AMERICAN MAYOR'S MISTAKE. "JUST PLAIN MR- HUGHES." Renter. SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 3. When Mr. James Rolph, Mayor of Sari Francisco, visited Australia several months ago, he met so many men with titles that when Mr. Thomas Hughes, a wealthy Australian, arrived here recently, the Mayor introduced the visitor to newspaper reporters as "Sir Thomas Hughes. Mr. Hughes, who is being entertained hy prominent San Francisco families, explained, "I a,rr. just plain Mr. Hughea."
