DRAY GOES OVER BANK.
ONE OCCUPANT KILLED. FOUND BENEATH VEHICLE. COMPANION SEVERELY HURT. [BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ] BLENHEIM. Friday. A fatality occurred yesterday on the Upper Awatere Road, Thomas McQueen losing his life, and Arthur Coomb* being injured. The men had been at the Jordan accommodation house and were returning in a dray to Woodmen's Bend, where they ■were employed at labourers by the Public Works Department. Later the dray was found overturned down a bank about two miles from Jordan. The dray lay across McQueen's chest. He was dead. Coombs was found in the scrub nearby in a dazed condition, with his foot badly crushed, and bruised about the body. He was taken to tlio hospital. He was unable to give a coherent explanation of the accident.
