A wireless message intercepted at Lands End indicates that the steamship Coronado, bound for Jamaica from Avonmouth, is in need of assistance. A hurricane is raging and 102 officers and men and 54 passengers are aboard. The passengers include Lord and Lady Invernairn, Sir Archibald and Lady Edmondstone, and the Bishop of Jamaica. The Coronado is a steel twin-screw steamer of 6539 tons. She was built in 1915, and is owned by Elders and Fyffes, Limited. Her port of registry is Belfast.
