THE IDLE STEAMERS.

SEVERAL TO BE MANNED. THE ULIMAROA INCLUDED. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. Deo. 30. The Commonwealth steamship owners have called upou the guarantors of the agreement concluded with the Seamen's Union on August 6 to make good their guarantee. As a result it is believed that several steamers, including the Ulimaroa, which have been idle in Australian porta for many weeks, will be manned shortly. The development fellows the conference that has been held between the owners and the Trades Hall Council. One of the guarantors, Mr. Lowhead, has sailed by the Port Melbourne for New Zealand.
