DYESTUFFS CONCERN.
BRITISH STATE INTEREST.
OFFER TO THE SHAREHOLDERS. A. and N.Z. LONDON, Nov. 15. The Government's interest in the British Dyestuffs Corporation will shortly lapse, subject to the shareholders agreeing to a scheme for the reconstruction of the concern.
The corporation was formed while the war was in progress to manufacture dyestuffs to replace the lost German supplies. The Government subscribed £1,700,000, and exercised a degree of control over the corporation.A notice was issued to-dav convening a general meeting of shareholders. It stated that the original restrictions seriously militated against the successful conduct of the affairs of the corporation. The Government had offered to sacrifice its shares for £600,000, and to withdraw the restrictions, except stipulations to ensure that the corporation should remain predominantly British and keep in touch with tho Government as regards technical information and research.
