DISEASE IN CATTLE.
MOVEMENT RESTRICTED.
DRASTIC STEP IN ENGLAND.
Renter. LONDON, Nov. 15. A drastic experiment in the shape of a "standstill" order for a period of three weeks over the Midlands and South, of England, has been imposed by the Minister for Agriculture, in a determination to stamp out the spread of foot, and mouth disease. The disease is threatening to again invade the country from Continental sources. Sixteen counties arc affected by the order. For the past seven weeks, in certain specified cases* the movement of cattle has been allowed within the, affected area, but under no conditions have transfers been permitted to an area which is free from the disease.
