Iri the final of the French open golf championship at Chantilly Arnaud Massy won tho title by defeating A. E. W. Compston (England). CYCLING IN AUSTRALIA. LONG-DISTANCE ROAD RACES. A. and N.Z. MELBOURNE. Oct. 8. There are 223 entrants for the Warrnambool to Melbourne road cycling race on Saturday. % The entries include those of the New Zealand riders, R. Nicholson, D. Nicholson, Crutchley and Bright. For the Colao to Melbourne race (100 miles), to be held concurrently, there are 1% entrants.
