THE ST. GEORGE'S CLUB. REVIEW OF PAST SEASON. The forty-second annual meeting of the St. George's Rowing Club will be held next Monday evening. The report and balance-sheet show that last seaport was a prosperous one for the club, which had a membership of 82 last year. Th® expenditure and depreciation written off amounted to £IJB, leaving a surplus of .£*so, and making an accumulated fund of ,£1144. As usual, the club was well represented at Auckland provincial regattas, and 11 club events were arranged during the season. The club's plant was improved by the addition of three practice fours, one racing four and two single scuQing boats. Two new pairoar boats of tne convertible double-sculis type should arrrse from Melbourne in December. THE AUCKLAND CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING KELD. The fifty-sixth annual meeting of the Auckland Rowing Club was held last evening; the commodore, Mr. H. Cieal, presiding over a good attendance. The report referred to the increasing membership of the club and the curtailment of rowing activities on account of the infantile paralysis epidemic last season. The club was represented in the junior event at the championships at Hamilton, but owing to lack of training they did not meet with any success., The club races were well contested and some good racing witnessed. The Maurice CarO Memorial Cup race took the form of a single sculling event and record entries were received, the successful contestant being D. Dawies, of the North Shore Rowing Club. The Dr. StUart Reid euzhtoar rs.ee was to have taken the form of a challenge cup race, but only one race was rowed, Auckland losing to West End. The financial deficit was not as large as last year, and when present outstanding sub : scriptions were received the bank overdraft' would be wiped out and a start made toward a credit balance, which would be used for the purchase of new plant. The present plant now (ionsisted of two eight-oar practice duikers, one best and best racing four, one clinker racing four, three practice fours, two practice convertibles, double sculls pair oar, one racing convertible, double scull and pair oar, two stumps, and one pleasure boat.
