OBJECTIONABLE FILMS.

TWO FOREIGN PRODUCTS, •i PROTESTS IN BRITAIN. LONDON. S&nt. 27. A London paper, The I eople, Glares that a film which has been produced in America, showing the Prince of Wales, thinly disguised, participating in adventures and gallantry in New York, and finally marrying an American girl, is insolent, unsavoury and in the worst taste, *nd must not be exhibited in Britain. Mr. Lloyd George angrily protests aganst the inclusion of existing pictures of himself playing golf and of Earl Balfour playing tennis in an audacious German film, designed to encourage physical training, in which groups of node women and semi-nude men, illustrating systems of acquiring strength and health, are prominently featured Tho Sunday Herald states that the Germans are using the cult of the nude in a national physical development campaign, causing the inauguration of many " youth " movements. The Balfour and Lloyd George pictures are included to show that sport conserves one's energies. Mr. Lloyd George declares; "The film is infamous. I shall use every effort to prevent its exhibition in Britain. Otherwise, action is impossible." The producers deny that the film against which Mr. Lloyd George has protested is objectionable, says the Berlin correspondent of the Daily Mail. The producers state that the nude women, who include professors' daughters belonging to the best German society, appear only in the first part of the film. It is explained pictures of Mr. Lloyd George at golf, the Earl of Balfour at tennis, Signor Mussolini on horseback, and the playwright Gerhard Hauptmann swimming comprise the second part of the film, which is dignified throughout. In the event of any of the persons filmed objecting the pictures of them will be deleted.
