SIX MONTHS' PENANCE.
SIR HARI SINGH'S FATE.. [ ECHO OF "MR. A" CASE. LONDON. Sept. 27. The Weekly Dispatch states that the late Maharajah of Kashmir, uncle of Sir Hari Singh, though cognisant of the latter's relations with Robinson and his wife, was horrified when the details of the atffair were revealed in the Courts. Tho Maharajah ordered his nephew, after a religious purification lasting 10 days and including a penitential shaving of his moustache, to undergo six months' penance in the jungles for the purification of his soul, because his conduct had been unbecoming in a Rajput warrior. The Maharajah died before a reconciliation had been effected.
