AVIATION PROGRESS.

NEW SUSTAINING DEVICE. INVENTION OF A SPANIARD. ft Eim LONDON, Oct. 8. The Daily Mail says a Spanish engineer has invented a flying machine which embodies the new principle of aero-dynamics. It combines the features of the helicopter and the ornithopher. The machine will be demonstrated before Air Ministry experts. The most striking feature is a movable column which rises from the hull. This is equipped with four spinning vanes, which begin to rotate as the machine taxies along the ground, and will lift the craft almost vertically, providing a para-chute-like sustaining power.
