SISTER DOMINIONS.
METHGOS OF PROGRESS. DIFFERENCES REVIEWED. A. and N.Z, SYDNEY. Oct. 5. Speaking on behalf of New Zealand at the dinner tendered to the delegates to the Empire Press Conference by the newspaper proprietors, Mr. Henry Horton (New Zealand Herald) said the visit had been a wonderful education. Australia and New Zealand were proceeding on somewhat different lines. Comparing the exports of the two countries in relation to their population, Mr. Horton said Australia showed an apparent shortage in produce. The reason for that, however, was that now that Australia was manufacturing extensively she was able to find for herself a larger market. She was also probably employing in her factories men who in New Zealand would be engaged in pastoral pursuits. New Zealand was bent upon bringing her waste land into cultivation as quickly as possible. Australia desired to be more self-contained and more selfsupporting. PRESS DELEGATES' TOUR. BY RAIL THROUGH VICTORIA. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association, (vtficd. 10.6 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Oct. 5. The delegates to the Empire Press Conference have commenced » railway tour of Victoria.
