HEAVY TRAFFIC LICENSES.
APATHY OF PROPRIETORS. COURT .IMPOSES FINES. ■ Twenty-two charges against 13 propria ' tors who had failed to procure heavy . traffic licenses as required for their : vehicles, were heard in the Police Conrli yesterday. ' . Mr. G. R. Hogfin, chief ti&ffic in*pector t who prosecuted, said there- was a notice* able apathy toward obtaining tfcese licenses and the only thing which brought many owners up to the mark was the presentation a summons. Reputed warnings had been issued - The following defendants were lined 10s and costs on each chargeß Alexander Eliot, four charges 4 Robert Ferguson, three charges; Edward Lye, Frederick; Williamson, George Olesen and Thomas Newton, each two charges; James : Cunningham, William Cropp, Ivy McCarthy and Robert Short, one charge each. Pryor and Postlewaight and Victor Collins were ordered to pay costs, on each of two charges. On one count John Collett was fined 10s and costs, and on another, ; • was ordered to pay costs.
