SYRIAN REBELLION.
FRENCH OFFICER'S FATE. DEATH RATHER THAN SURRENDER Sun. PARIS. Aug. 10. An official despatch from Syria discloses the fact that when tho Druses attacked the French ammunition convoy attached to a relief column the guard ran away and left a wounded officer. The latter committed suicide in preference to surrendering.
