ECONOMY IN NAVY.
SACRIFICES NECESSARY. PLEA TO OFFICERS AND MEN. A. and N.Z. LONDON. Aug. 10. The Commander-in-Chief at Portsmouth has issued an extract of an official letter from the Admiralty stating that the rebuilding of tho fleet is seriously burdening tho financial resources of tho country. The Admiralty trusts that officers and men will do their utmost to minimise any reduction of efficiency that may ensue, and cheerfully accept any accompanying inconvenient! and discomfort.
