ALBERT PARK TRAGEDY.
FATAL GUNSHOT WOUND. MAN'S UNTIMELY END. A CONSTABLE'S DISCOVERY. A tragic occurrence took place in Albert Park near the Wellesley Street entrance at about a quarter past-seven o'clock last evening, when a well-dressed man, Mr. Alfred Hurst, aged about 45, of 129, New North Eoad, Eden Terrace, .was found dead. Constable Orr, who was near by at tho time, heard a shot and ran to the spot, where ho found the man lying under a tree. Ho then seemed to bo dead. A new shot gun, with a portion of the barrel sawn off, was lying across his body. The man was holding the weapon in his hand. Ho had apparently been shot in his mouth, as his head was fearfully injured. Dr. Lindsay was at once called, but the man was already dead. An inquest will be opened to-day.
