THE ART EXHIBITION.
Sis, —Once more the annual exhibition of -the Auckland Society of Arts draws nfaar and, as per usual, there will bo heart-burnings over tho rejection of work. To make tho exhibition a success wa invite artists from other centres to exhibit—so our gallery is not largo enough to accommodate all the work sent, in by the members of this district. I was in the gallery last week and saw sixteen pretty little water colours brought in by two members, some of the paintings not much larger than post cards. If all tho workers in this medium send the same or half the same number, well there must be rejections. I think every other society has a different room for watercolours. Failing this a separate exhibition would be a good idea. A Working Member.
