LABOUR'S LAND POLICY.
Sir,—-Mr. Montgomerio states: —"So long -as the Dominion prospers and population increases, there must continue to be an increase in land values," but he offers no evidence in,.support of his assertion. In Great, Britain {with a population a! over 40,GOO,COO) good farms have been sold for less than the value of the improvements. In other words, you could get the land for nothing by paying the value of the improvements. When Mr. Lloyd George a few years ago was talking like Mr. Montgomerio, tho Duke of Sutherland offered to sell him 12 sheep farms and 160,000 acres of sheep and cattle runs for 25s per acre. His offer was not accepted. Puzzled Cockatoo.
