MR. DOWNIE STEWART.
BENEFIT FROM TREATMENT. ABLE TO LEAVE AMERICA. [Bl' TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] WELLINGTON. Monday. The Prime Minister, Sir . Francis Bell, to-day received a cablegram from the Hon. W. Downie Stewart, who is now in New York. Mr. Stewart stated: " My doctor is now prepared to let mo leave and continue treatment in New Zealand. lam confident the disease has been effectively checked, but beneficial results will only" become obvious by slow degrees. Possibly some months must elapse before I abandon crutches."
