OBITUARY.
MR, P. A, LAURIE. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] CHRISTCHUROH. Monday.
The death is announced of Mr. P. A. Laurie, well-known in Christchurch as secretary of the United Bowling, Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. He was a son of the late Mr. Patrick Laurie, one of the early settlers of Christchurch. He was educated at Christ's College and from there went into the Bank of New Zealand, which, he left to enter into business as a timber merchant, forming- the firm of Messrs. Wood and Laurie. At one time Mr. Laurie was known, as a rower and later he became a-*keen lawn tennis and croquet player. He was in ill-health during the last two years and was in his sixty-second year. His wife was a daughter of Mr. R. Allan. Ho leaves three children, Mr. P. Laurie, an engineer in America, Mr. R. Laurie, of Christchurch, and a married daughter.
