CLOSING OF SCHOOLS.
Sir, —When is this intolerable state of ! things with regard to tho closing of schools to end ? If it. did any good one would put up with it with patience. But one has only to walk along Karangahape Road or any of our busy thoroughfares to see the countless number of boys loafing their time away in mobs, that are far more dangerous (if there is danger) than the orderly procedure at schools. And meanwhile law-abiding citizens pen their children up in backyards, and are driven to tiheir wits' end to occupy them, while the tempers and nerves of their mothers are continually at breaking-point. Arc we to go on till there is not a case in the Dominion ? If so, from what I can gather from medical men, we shall go on till doomsday. Parent of Six.
