FALL OVER A BANK.
HERNE BAY ACC'.DENT. - DROP OF FIFTEEN FEET.-], SEVERE INJURY SUSTAINED. | A fracture of the skull was sustained by Mr. Joseph Salmon, of 28, Edgar's Road Grey Lynn, through falling over a hank at the foot of Jcrvois Road, Herns Bay, last evening. A zig-zag pathway has lately been con* :| strueted leading down to the beach and across Cox's Creek from the' foot of • Jeri. i vois Road. At the place where the accident occurred, some filling had been done, making ,a> steep bank about 15ft. ht|!| i from the beach. It is presumed Mr. Salmon was walking - down the track when he fell over. this bank, there being no protection at th® edge of the path. He was found abouj 7 o'clock last evening, apparently only * minute or two after the fall, although n® one actually witnessed the occurrence. was attended by Dr. Holmden and removed to the hospital. An operation was performed, and at! an early hour this morning the condition of the patient was stated to bo critical.
