BOMBAY SETTLEMENT.
THE DIAMOND JUBILEE, FIXTURE FOR NEXT MONTH. ' The Diamond Jubilee of the Bombay settlement falls on March 18 next. During the whole of the sixty years since the arrival of the pioneer settlers, with the exception of two or three occasions during the great war, the anniversary has been celebrated by the holding of a picnic and sports feathering. The event is to assume unique form this year, when the anniversary committee propose to entertain every original settler who is able to attend. It has been ascertained that about forty remain out of the 400 who arrived in the ship Bombay in 1865, and practically all of ihese ara resident in the Auckland province. An exceptionally attractive , sports gathering is being arranged, prizes to the value of £SO being offered, covering seventeen events.
