CLAY BIRD SHOOTING.
WHANGAREI CHAMPIONSHIP. [BY TSWEOBAVH.— CORRESPONDENT. ] WHANGAREI. Friday. With the weather conditions to a i marked degree detrimental to good marksmanship, members of the Whangare Gun I Club competed yesterday afternoon for the * championship and Colonial Ammunition Company's gold medal. The shooting was exceptionally poor. _ Off the 15-yard mark and with 15 ctajs each to account for, McKenzw, J. North and 1) V. North wero successful in registering the full quota in the first -cay of three birds. From then on until the finish the shooting was most inconsistent. The event resulted in a triple tie for first honours, necessitating a shoot-off between McKenzi*. U. P. North and J. North, nine clavs each. In the shoot-off D. I. North and McKenzie each registered a kill in the first round. Both missed m the second, and North won in the third round. ' ~ , ■ ifn In an eight-bird match for the Lalpin Cup Luke Webb, J.
